Jury finds tech consultant guilty of second-degree murder
A San Francisco jury on Tuesday found tech consultant Nima Momeni guilty in the stabbing death of Cash App founder Bob Lee. San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins thanked the jury for their service and said she hoped their verdict brought some closure to the Lee’s family.
What happened? Prosecutors argued in court that Momeni stabbed Lee three times with a kitchen knife after driving him to an isolated spot under the Bay Bridge. Momeni was angry with Lee for allegedly introducing his younger sister to a drug dealer who drugged and sexually assaulted her, the Associated Press reported.
What was Momeni’s defense? Momeni testified on his own behalf, saying he acted in self-defense, according to the Associated Press. He said Lee was the one who attacked him with the knife. Lee was angry because instead of going with him to a strip club, Momeni criticized him for not spending more time with his family, Momeni said.
