Judges block three immigration policies

Three federal judges in separate rulings pushed back proposed changes to immigration policy on Friday, setting the stage for extended court battles with the White House. The Trump administration is expected to appeal the rulings, which dealt with child detention, fast-track deportations, and detainment requests.

On what grounds are they blocking the policy changes? The judges issued injunctions against all three policies, meaning they cannot take effect while the courts consider their cases. The judges said the policy changes violated existing laws and the constitutional right to due process.
