Jordan convicts soldier in murder of three American troops

A military court in Jordan has sentenced a Jordanian soldier to life in prison with hard labor for killing three U.S. military trainers at a Jordanian air base. Gunfire killed the three U.S. Army green berets on Nov. 4 as their convoy waited at the base gate. The soldier pleaded “not guilty” to the charges, claiming he opened fire out of fear the base was under attack. The U.S. Embassy in a Monday statement said the trial verified the U.S. military trainers had “followed all established procedures when accessing the base the day of the incident, as we have noted before.”
