Israel continues airstrikes on Gaza as aid trickles in

The Israel Defense Forces on Monday launched limited ground raids into Gaza where Israeli troops clashed with Hamas terrorists. Israeli forces continued to launch air strikes on what the military described as Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad targets across the region. The Biden administration has called for Israel to delay a full-scale ground invasion to allow for the release of hostages being held by Hamas. The terrorist organization took at least 200 people hostage during the Oct. 7 attacks, said Israeli military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari. The attacks also killed more than 1,400 people in Israel, primarily civilians.

Is humanitarian aid getting into Gaza? Two convoys of aid trucks entered the region over the weekend through the Rafah crossing from Egypt. A third convoy entered on Monday. Last week, Israel agreed to allow some humanitarian supplies into Gaza, excluding fuel. The region has been experiencing severe power outages for two weeks. The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza says at least 5,000 people have been killed in Gaza since the war began.
