ISIS targets Kurds with twin bombing in Syria

Islamic State claimed responsibility for twin bombings in the mostly Kurdish town of Qamishli today that killed 44 people and wounded dozens more. The bombers targeted a crowd of people near a complex of offices. The explosions heavily damaged buildings in the area, burying many of the victims under piles of rubble. Fighters with the Kurdish Syria Democratic Forces have been on the front lines of the battle against ISIS in northern Syria, backed by U.S. air support. The militia currently is working an offensive against the ISIS-held town of Manbij, east of Qamishli.
