Infant boy still missing week after deadly Pennsylvania flash flood

Toddler Matilda Sheils and her 9-month-old brother Conrad went missing during a July 15 flash flood in southeastern Pennsylvania. Matilda’s body was found on Friday. Five others, including the mother of the two children, were killed in the flooding. The Sheils family was visiting from South Carolina and were on their way to a barbecue when a flash flood hit them. The family’s father and 4-year-old child made it to safety, but two other siblings were swept away with their grandmother and mother. The grandmother survived and was treated at a hospital.

Where was Matilda’s body found? Authorities found Matilda’s body in the Delaware River near a water treatment plant about 30 miles from where she disappeared. Finding her body has allowed workers to narrow their search for Conrad.
