Asa Hutchinson announces presidential run
On Sunday, the former Arkansas governor said on ABC’s This Week that he is running for the Republican nomination for president in 2024. He also said that former President Donald Trump should drop out of the race because of his indictment and pending arrest in New York City. He called another Trump nomination the “worst scenario” for Republicans.
Who is Asa Hutchinson? He implemented some income tax reductions during his two terms as Arkansas governor. He also signed several pro-life measures into law and vetoed a bill that would protect minors from gender transition procedures. For that, he fell into disfavor with Trump and social conservatives.
