Texas man charged with threatening FBI agent over Hunter Biden conviction
The Department of Justice on Thursday said it filed charges against Timothy Muller, 43, for allegedly threatening an FBI agent involved with investigating a laptop belonging to President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden. The indictment is merely an allegation and Muller should be presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law, the department said.
What happened? The news broke on Tuesday that a Delaware jury had convicted Hunter Biden on charges of lying on a federal form to purchase a firearm and of possessing that firearm while addicted to drugs. Later that day, Muller allegedly called the FBI agent’s phone, according to the Justice Department. The agent disconnected the call after hearing Muller’s voice. Muller then allegedly called back, leaving a roughly minute-long message in which he threatened to kill the FBI agent and his family if former President Donald Trump did not win the next presidential election. Muller allegedly accused the agent of covering up damaging information about Hunter Biden.
After wrapping up his message, Muller then allegedly sent follow-up texts to the agent threatening his family and the agent’s life, according to the Justice Department. In those messages, Muller also blamed the agent for stealing the last presidential election and disenfranchising 75 million Americans, according to the department. Authorities arrested Muller outside his home in Fort Worth, Texas without incident on Thursday, the department said.
