Hunter Biden pleads not guilty to felony gun charges
President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, appeared in a Delaware court on Tuesday, where his lawyers entered his plea in response to the three federal charges. The younger Biden faces two charges for lying on a federal form to purchase a Colt Cobra revolver in 2018, allegedly saying he was not using drugs or addicted to drugs at the time of the purchase. Hunter later acknowledged that he had used drugs and was addicted at the time. He faces another charge for allegedly possessing the firearm as a drug user.
What does he have to say about the charges? Hunter’s legal team said the Department of Justice was bowing to pressure from Republicans to prosecute him as the son of the president, and that the DOJ has not typically handled similar cases this way. Congressional Republicans have opened an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, alleging that he had improper connections to Hunter’s business dealings.
