Hunter Biden indicted on new federal tax charges

An indictment unsealed on Thursday in California alleges that President Joe Biden’s son conspired to avoid paying roughly $1.4 million in federal taxes between 2016 and 2019. Justice Department special counsel David Weiss laid out nine specific charges in the indictment, including filing fraudulent returns and evasion of assessment.

Isn’t Hunter Biden already facing charges? Earlier this year, federal prosecutors leveled three felony charges against him in Delaware, alleging that he lied about using drugs while purchasing a firearm and that he possessed that same firearm later while still using drugs. The younger Biden’s legal team had reached a plea agreement with prosecutors before that indictment, but the deal crumbled under a judge’s questioning.
