House passes resolution condemning Harris’ handling of border
Six Democrats joined House Republicans in voting to condemn the Biden administration and Vice President Kamala Harris in her capacity as U.S. border czar. The resolution claimed Harris, as border czar, failed to secure the U.S. southern border. Republicans have repeatedly raised concerns about illegal immigration at the southern border. GOP lawmakers impeached Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas earlier this year for his failure to secure the border. Democrat leaders in the Senate later dismissed those articles of impeachment.
Are lawmakers addressing Harris’ handling of the southern border in other ways? Earlier this week Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., filed articles of impeachment against Harris. He alleged that she intentionally refused to uphold U.S. immigration law and demonstrated extraordinary incompetence in performing her duties as vice president. He added that, in so doing, she had also broken the public trust.
