House approves $3.5 trillion budget blueprint
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., struck a deal with moderate Democrats to pass a massive budget resolution. She promised the moderates the House would vote on a smaller bipartisan infrastructure package of $1 trillion no later than Sept. 27. The measure passed straight down party lines.
What happens now? House committees are already working to draft legislation to fill in the details of the $3.5 trillion plan. The House will vote on the package later this fall and send it to the Senate, which has already passed the $1 trillion infrastructure bill. It will go to President Joe Biden’s desk for his signature once it passes.
