FBI releases notes from Clinton email interviews
Hillary Clinton told the FBI she never asked permission to use a private email server while she was secretary of state, and no one at the State Department raised concerns, according to FBI documents released today. In an interview with investigators, she said she relied on her staff to vet emails for sensitive information before forwarding them to her private server. In July, FBI director James Comey said Clinton and her staff had been “extremely careless,” but there was no evidence they intentionally mishandled classified information. Clinton maintained in interviews that she told her aides to create a private email account for her convenience, not to skirt federal recordkeeping laws.
