Drone attack on Sudan market kills dozens
A drone strike Sunday targeting a market south of Khartoum killed at least 43 people and left over 55 other people injured, according to the Sudan Doctors’ Union. The market attack is the latest strike in a conflict that began in April between Sudan’s military and the paramilitary group called Rapid Support Forces.

The military called that claim “false and misleading.” Fighting between the two groups also took place over the weekend in al-Fashir, the capital of the North Darfur province. After Sunday’s market strike, a UN official called for an end to fighting so humanitarian aid can be brought to “those who need them most.”
