DeSantis, Haley to face off at last pre-Iowa debate
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley will face off in a CNN-hosted debate Wednesday night for qualifying Republican presidential candidates. The debate will not feature other White House hopefuls. Businessman Vivek Ramaswamy failed to meet the requirements to appear, as did former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. The matchup between Haley and DeSantis will take place just days before the Republican Iowa Caucuses kick off the 2024 presidential primary season.
When is the debate and where will it be broadcast? The debate will begin at 9 pm EST, and will be streamed live by CNN on several of its channels. Drake University in Des Moines will host the candidates, along with hosts Jake Tapper and Dana Bash. Former President Donald Trump will appear just miles away from the university, where he will host a town hall that Fox News will stream live. According to Real Clear Politics, Trump commands more than 60 percent of Republicans’ support nationwide.
