Polls closed in Hawaii with new and returning candidates securing their nominations Saturday night. Incumbent Democratic Gov. Josh Green won his party's resounding nomination with nearly 90% of the vote, according to the Associated Press. In November, Green will face Republican nominee Gary Cordery, a contractor.

In the state’s two House races, incumbent Democratic Representatives Ed Case and Jill Tokuda secured their nominations with about 60% and 92% of the vote, respectively, the Associated Press reported. They will both face Republican candidates Adriel Lam and Brenton Awa, who ran uncontested in the primaries for the general election.

Democratic Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke will not return for a second term. Derek S. K. Kawakami, mayor of Kauai, won the Democratic nomination and will run against Republican Daniel Anthony in the general election, the Associated Press reported.
