Defendant in Trump case accuses prosecutor of misconduct

According to a court filing Monday, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis brought her romantic partner—special prosecutor Nathan Wade—onto the case against former President Donald Trump. One of Trump’s co-defendants, Michael Roman, filed the court document alleging that Willis failed to disclose the relationship and improperly benefited from it. The filing also alleges that Willis improperly appointed Wade, who was married, to the case.

Is there proof that the allegations are true? The court filing cites unnamed sources close to Wade and Willis. Roman seeks a dismissal of all charges against him, arguing that the prosecution has been mishandled. Roman’s attorney also alleges Willis financially benefited from the money she paid to Wade, saying the two went on vacations together using the funds. Willis’ office has said she will respond to the accusations through court filings.
