Cyclone displaces thousands in Bangladesh and Myanmar

Cyclone Mocha made landfall in Myanmar on Sunday, bringing winds over 150 mph. At least six people were killed and hundreds were injured, according to the Rakhine Youths Philanthropic Association. Authorities in Bangladesh and Myanmar, also known as Burma, evacuated hundreds of thousands of people from coastal areas before the storm hit. The full effect of the typhoon wasn't clear on Monday due to downed communication lines in both countries.

How badly was Bangladesh hit? Thousands of homes were destroyed or damaged in Bangladesh, but the cyclone did not hit the country as hard as  Myanmar. Cox’s Bazar, the world’s largest refugee camp, did not incur as much damage as expected. The center is home to about 1 million Rohingya refugees from Myanmar.
