Clinton, Kaine campaign in Miami
Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine made their first appearance together as running mates at a rally today in Miami. Clinton called the U.S. senator from Virginia, and the state’s former governor, “a progressive who likes to get things done.” She picked Kaine as her vice presidential running mate on Friday, making the announcement in a text message to supporters. Kaine, who speaks fluent Spanish, joined her today in Florida in the run-up to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. Kaine was already working for Clinton, campaigning with her last week in northern Virginia. “Do you want a ‘you’re fired’ president or a ‘you’re hired’ president?” he asked the crowd of Clinton supporters. “Do you want a trash-talking president or a bridge-building president?”
