Break-in, timeline add confusion to Vegas probe

The FBI is investigating a break-in at Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock’s home in Reno, Nev. A neighbor called local police after noticing a light on inside the house early Sunday. Reno Police Officer Tim Broadway said Tuesday there were no suspects in the break-in, and it’s unclear whether anything was taken. Meanwhile, confusion remains about events in the Mandalay Bay hotel the night Paddock opened fire on an outdoor concert from his room there. The hotel has questioned police accounts of when Paddock shot a guard outside his room and whether the guard alerted police, giving them an opportunity to respond sooner. Las Vegas police said Monday the guard was wounded six minutes before the shooting began, but a spokesperson for MGM Resorts, which owns the hotel, said company officials think that “may not be accurate.”
