Bodies of father, 3 kids found in Indiana pond

The Marion County Coroner’s Office confirmed Wednesday that the bodies discovered Tuesday night belonged to 27-year-old Kyle Moorman and his three kids — ages 5, 2, and 1. They had been missing since July 6, when Moorman took off for his brother’s cabin to go fishing with his children. Police received a report Tuesday night that the body of a man was floating in the water of the pond. A dive team then found the three kids inside a vehicle in the pond that matched the description of Moorman’s vehicle.

What happened? Police are uncertain about the cause and manner of death, but detectives and coroners are trying to piece together what led to the four people ending up in the pond. Officers, along with friends and family of the missing, had searched the pond area and other locations for days, with drones and on foot.
