Biden rakes in Super Tuesday wins

Former Vice President Joe Biden had a strong showing on Super Tuesday, winning the Democratic primaries in Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Minnesota, Arkansas, Texas, and Massachusetts, where he defeated Sen. Elizabeth Warren in her home state. He was in the lead in Maine, where the election was still too close to call early Wednesday.

How did the other candidates do? Sen. Bernie Sanders won at home in Vermont while also carrying Colorado, Utah, and delegate-rich California. His win in the Golden State, combined with victories in earlier primaries and caucuses, ensures he will remain a solid contender in upcoming primaries. Billionaire Mike Bloomberg and Sen. Elizabeth Warren both had disappointing evenings. Warren said she is in the race for the long haul, but Bloomberg said he would reevaluate his campaign.
