Biden acknowledges performance challenges in debate, insists he’ll win election

President Joe Biden on Friday admitted that he had not performed as well as he previously could have when he debated former President Donald Trump Thursday night. The two clashed for roughly 90 minutes as CNN moderators probed them on immigration, abortion, foreign wars, and the opioid epidemic. Biden acknowledged that during the debate, he didn’t speak or walk as smoothly as he had in past years. But he insisted that he knew how to do the job of president, knew right from wrong, and knew how to tell the truth.

What has Trump had to say about Biden’s capacity? Trump’s campaign issued a statement on Friday calling Biden’s performance in the debate disastrous. During the debate Trump repeatedly emphasized what he characterized as Biden’s poor performance as president, and the negative results of his leadership on the economy, the border, and the world as a whole, the statement added.
