Authorities find Texas shooter after four-day manhunt

The man accused of killing five people in Cleveland, Texas, was hiding under a pile of laundry when authorities found him on Tuesday, officials said. Authorities found Francisco Oropeza about 20 miles away from his home in Cleveland where authorities said he had shot his neighbors and then left on foot. Authorities have also arrested Oropeza’s wife.

How did they find him? A tip came in at about 5 p.m. and authorities caught Oropeza just over an hour later. It was one of more than 200 tips that came in after the Texas governor and others offered an $80,000 reward. Oropeza, 38, is a Mexican national who has been deported four times between 2009 and 2016, according to U.S. immigration officials.
