Another Trump lawyer pleads guilty in Georgia election case
Kenneth Chesebro on Friday pleaded guilty to one felony charge of conspiracy to file false documents in connection with former President Donald Trump’s alleged attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. Trump has maintained he did nothing wrong and only challenged election results.
What does the plea deal entail? Prosecutors in Georgia recommended five years of probation and a $5,000 fine. Additionally, Chesebro must also testify at any upcoming trial against Trump or other co-defendants in the case. Just a day before, co-defendant Sidney Powell pleaded guilty to six misdemeanor charges and also agreed to testify at any upcoming trial.
