Air National Guardsman arrested for Pentagon papers leak

Jack Teixeira, 21, has been arrested for his alleged involvement in leaking classified documents about the war in Ukraine and information on U.S. allies. Teixeira is a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard who worked in Air Force intelligence. Investigators believe he led the online chat group where the documents initially were posted.

What exact charges will he face? U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland said that Teixeira would face charges of removing, retaining, and disseminating classified national defense information. Pentagon spokesman Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder called the disclosure of the documents an intentional criminal act.
