The Spangdahlem Air Base in southwestern Germany confirmed no fatalities after a U.S. Air Force F-16 crashed on the base Tuesday afternoon. The Fighting Falcon crashed while returning from a routine training flight with three other aircraft, according to the base. The aircraft’s pilot received medical care after safely ejecting, and the other three aircraft landed safely at another air base. The U.S. air base reported that the cause of the crash remained under investigation.
Didn’t another F-16 just crash less than a week ago? The Tuesday crash came five days after another F-16 crashed in northwestern Michigan last Thursday. Local officials confirmed that the pilot, the only person on board at the time of the crash, was safe, conscious, and receiving medical attention. The cause of the first F-16 crash also remained under investigation Tuesday.
