Four killed, including children, after car crashes through day care

Two 7-year-olds, an 8-year-old, and an 18-year-old died on Monday when a car crashed through the YNOT After School Camp building in Chatham, Ill. Six other children were hospitalized, one of whom was in critical condition as of Tuesday morning. The incident did not appear to be a targeted attack, Chatham police said Tuesday. The police department also asked people to pray for the hurting local community.
What happened? Around 3:20 p.m. on Monday, the vehicle left the road for unknown reasons, driving through a field before hitting and traveling through the day care building, police said. The driver and only occupant of the vehicle was a Chatham woman. She was not in custody on Tuesday, as the investigation was still ongoing, local news reported. She was physically unharmed and results of her toxicology reports were pending, police said Tuesday.
Who were the victims? Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon identified the victims as Ainsley Johnson, 8, of Chatham; Rylee Britton, 18, of Springfield; Kathryn Corley, 7, of Chatham; and Alma Buhnerkempe, 7, of Chatham, according to local news.
