NICK EICHER, HOST: It’s been a hot summer!

How hot?

Well, so hot ... that in Switzerland, the yodelers had trouble keeping their cool.

Basel hosted the country’s national yodeling festival over the weekend. Temperatures got up to 102.

So the performers had to scout out the coolest seats in town—perching on the edges of public fountains, rehearsing singing while soaking their feet in the cool, cool water.

Nearly 200,000 people attended, where yodeling, alphorn playing, and Swiss flag-throwing all went on despite the sweltering temperature.

Proof that when the heat is on, the show goes on.

It’s The World and Everything in It.
