Kicker: Wide open seating

NICK EICHER, HOST: You know the feeling, you’re boarding a commercial flight and let’s say you get stuck in a center seat.

You’re thinking: please let at least one of the seats next to me be open.

Well, for a Lithuanian man boarding a 737 to northern Italy for ski trip last month, it wasn’t like that at all.

He stowed his carry-on, sat down, looked around, and figured pretty quickly this flight would not be crowded. At first, it looked like he might have the entire aisle to himself.

But then he gazed out the window, saw the jetway pulling away, and realized he had the entire cabin to himself.

118 seats. One passenger.

It seems a travel agency chartered the plane to fly a group home from Italy, and to avoid flying empty, it sold one-way tickets. Ah, sold one one-way ticket.

Private jet, coach price.
