NICK EICHER, HOST: A man in Australia thought he was being creative when he faced a transportation dilemma.
He’d just finished restoring his old fishing boat, and having done that, naturally, he wanted to take it to his favorite fishing spot.
But his driver’s license was suspended just then, so as any enterprising fisherman might do, he improvised.
He hitched up the boat to a motorized cart, like one you’d see at the grocery store. The cart in front, the boat in back. And he towed that boat down a neighborhood street.
Shane Swanscott told 9News of Australia. “I was going to push my boat down the street by hand, but I thought why not use the [scooter].”
Well, police had a reason why not.
They told him to turn around and go back home.
