WORLD Radio - Kicker: Too hard to steal

NICK EICHER, HOST: Police near London are on the lookout for an unusual item stolen from the home in which Winston Churchill was born.

Inspector Richard Nicholls made the announcement over the weekend.

NICHOLLS: A group of offenders broke into the palace and stole a high value toilet.

Not just any toilet. This one’s valued at more than a million dollars

It was part of an art exhibit installed two days earlier. The toilet is crafted from solid gold.

Thieves swiped it around 4 in the morning. Now, it was connected to the plumbing system and when disconnected, significant water damage followed. And by significant, I mean, flooding ensued.

Here’s the problem: No guards were assigned to watch the piece, because it seemed too hard to steal. Too big, too heavy, too connected to the plumbing system.

So much for that idea.

It’s The World and Everything in It.
