Kicker: The not-so-perfect hiding place

MARY REICHARD, HOST: A man in Georgia sold his car recently and put $6,500 in his pocket. Now, that’s a lot of cash to walk around with, and that’s not a good idea.

So he thought it’d be a better idea to take the money over to his mom’s, and spotted the perfect place to hide it. He stashed the cash inside an old Mickey Mouse coffee tumbler.

Problem is, he didn’t tell his mom about the money and when he returned days later, the mug was gone.

Where is it now?

Well, let’s just say it might be a good time to go shopping for Mickey Mouse tumblers at Goodwill.

Yes, sadly for Silvey, he hid the money there just as his mom was preparing to declutter the house.

She told Newsweek the “mug had literally sat in our cabinet untouched for about 15 years.” So she never thought to look inside before donating it.  

She’s asking whoever may now have the mug to return the money.
