ANNA JOHANSEN BROWN, HOST: We have a new world record, the first of its kind. No one has ever attempted to do this before:
SOUND: Prince Phillip, 10th of June. Dick Van Dyke, 13th of December. Idina Menzel, 9th of May.
That’s 27 year old Heidi Crowter of Coventry, England, listing the birthdays of celebrities. As many as she can in under three minutes.
Johnny Depp, 9th of June. Elaine Page, 7th of March.
Heidi has already been in the news. She has Down’s syndrome, and she’s been fighting the UK’s abortion laws. In the United Kingdom, abortion is capped at 24 weeks…unless the baby has a disability like Down’s syndrome. Those babies can be aborted right up until birth. Heidi says that’s discrimination, and she’s taken it to the highest courts in the UK.
But she also wants to challenge perceptions about what people with Down’s syndrome can achieve.
Now, Heidi is a proud Guinness World Record holder.
Bethany Asher. 6th of September. Alexandra Burke. 26th of August. [timer] Stop!
She had to name at least 25 birthdays to win the record. But Heidi was so prompt she booked it through 70 before time was up.
Her secret to success is not so secret. She says, “Everyone knows that practice makes perfect.”
It’s The World and Everything in It.
