NICK EICHER, HOST: Thirty-one years ago, the Discovery Channel began the annual practice of carrying an entire week of shark-themed programs.
AUDIO: Shark week on Discovery Channel.
It’s become a cultural phenomenon and in case you missed it, Shark Week was last week.
But this year, Christ Hospital in Cincinnati marked the occasion by giving each baby born there last week a “Baby Shark” onesie.
The hospital also posted a short video noting similarities between baby sharks and baby humans. It pointed out that both have “short and rounded snouts!”
It also noted something we can relate to: many sharks are nocturnal, meaning they stay awake at night—another similarity. Baby humans often keep mom and dad up at night.
It’s The World and Everything in It.
