Grumpy was a blue-check verified account, with 8 million Facebook followers, 2-and-a-half million on Instagram, a million-and-a-half on Twitter. She appeared in TV commercials and a movie.
The Grumpy Cat even made it into political culture. Here’s former President Obama poking fun at his humorless political opponents.
OBAMA: They’re gloomy. They’re like Grumpy Cat.
The feline’s net worth was never disclosed, but in 2013, her owners did say it was six figures.
Maybe this is evidence money can’t buy a happy disposition.
