NICK EICHER, HOST: Picture this: You’re sitting in your living room, minding your own business. And then all of a sudden, a family of raccoons drops in. Literally.
This is no hypothetical. It happened to a homeowner in Michigan recently.
A mother and five baby raccoons apparently had taken up residence in the attic. Then the ceiling drywall collapsed, and chaos ensued.
After a call to 911, firefighters showed up, and rounded up the little ones. But momma didn’t surrender without a fight.
AUDIO: Whoo hoo hoo … she’s mad. Whoo hoo hoo … She’s behind the curtain.
The raccoon bit a responder’s thick gloves before being nabbed in a closet with a dog catcher pole.
No people were injured. No animals either.
The raccoons are now safely back in the wild.
It’s The World and Everything in It.
