WORLD Radio - Kicker: Museum of pizza

NICK EICHER, HOST: New Yorkers love their pizza, but New York pizza makers like Frank Giaquinto love it even more.

GIAQUINTO: I been making pizza almost 50 years. It’s been in my family since 1899 and pizza is my life. God first, family second, pizza third. I eat pizza every day of my life.

Now the work of pizza makers like Giaquinto are set to have their own Museum of Pizza.

It’s not a permanent one. It’s more a “pop up” museum, rising like a crust and disappearing after it’s consumed.

What I mean is, the exhibit will be open for two weeks only in October.

Tickets will go for $35 and include at least one slice per visit.

The website touts an “experiential pizza adventure”: pizza-inspired rooms, like a cheese cave, a pizza art gallery, a pizza beach.

All of which probably means little more than lots of great backdrops for photos to post on Instagram.

It’s The World and Everything in It.
