Kicker: Missing ring

NICK EICHER, HOST: Long before Phil Bryant became governor of Mississippi, he lost his wedding ring, back in 1989.

Governor Bryant and his wife Deborah have been married for more than 40 years, but the governor’s been without his ring for almost 30 of those.

Well now, he finally knows what happened to the ring. It got lost, as things so often do, inside an old couch belonging to an old friend.

The governor announced the happy discovery on Twitter, along with thanks to that friend.

You just never know what you’ll find under the cushions of an old couch!
