NICK EICHER, HOST: Everyone loves a happy ending, particularly when it has to do with a beloved family pet.
This week a Connecticut family was reunited with their dog “Lady” after she went missing five years ago!
Animal control spotted the now 17-year-old dachshund last week in a city park.
A microchip revealed the dog’s owners as Rick and Michelle Riendeau.
An emotional Rick said he contacted animal control when Lady first went missing. Because they live near a wooded area, he and his wife feared the worst: That Lady may have been killed by a predator.
The Riendeaus consider Lady “the greatest dog [they’ve] ever had.” And now they have her back.
