NICK EICHER, HOST: All right, suppose a colleague at work says the reason she’s late today is because, well, because she stopped for gas and got kicked in the head by a deer.
That’s oddly specific and I’d say it’s reasonable to be skeptical.
But maybe you shouldn’t be.
This very thing actually happened and there’s video evidence to prove it. Lynda Tennent of Brunswick, Georgia, was standing next to a gas pump when she felt the impact on the back of her head.
At first, she thought it was a robbery.
It took a moment for her brain to catch up to what she just saw—a deer flying over her head, landing on the pavement in front of her and scurrying into the woods.
Now, thankfully, she wasn’t seriously injured by the kick in the head. As soon as she regained her wits, she said her only concern was she might be late for work.
The gas station surveillance camera caught the whole thing, so if she needed it, she’s got a really good excuse.
