NICK EICHER, HOST: A Maryland thief picked the wrong getaway car.
Or maybe the right one, depending upon your point of view.
Police say 29-year-old Jalen Godard broke into a Verizon store outside Baltimore.
But while he was inside—allegedly stealing things—somebody else stole his car.
Police say the second thief was unknown, unrelated, and apparently working the same neighborhood.
So Godard didn’t get far with the Verizon loot, obviously.
Investigators matched him to surveillance footage and charged him with burglary, theft, and destruction of property.
The thief who stole the thief's car, however, is still at large.
Imagine being the officer who had to take that police report. So let me get this straight, sir: You’re saying someone stole something of yours, and you think that’s wrong, and we should, what? Arrest him?
