NICK EICHER, HOST: That big snowstorm that hit the midwest last weekend left lots of people stuck in the snow. One guy in particular really couldn’t afford to be stuck, because he had an appointment he simply couldn’t reschedule.
Thankfully, a good samaritan was on the spot with a Chevy Suburban to help get the driver unstuck and on his way.
He wanted to thank the good samaritan, but had only the first name, Dave. So he turned to his 21-thousand social media followers to try to find Dave, to reward him with tickets to this weekend’s AFC Championship game.
Turns out these two people occupy two very different worlds.
Dave is Dave Cochran. He has no home. He lives in that Chevy. This weekend, he’ll be driving it to Arrowhead Stadium. Audio here from Channel 41 KSHB.
COCHRAN: Call me soft if you want to, home boys, but I started bawlin’. I started bawlin’, I did. Just to know that he’s a man of his word, he actually reached out to contact me.
The man he rescued is Jeff Allen. The appointment he couldn’t reschedule was the playoff game that put him in that Championship contest. Allen is an offensive lineman for the Kansas City Chiefs.
It’s The World and Everything in It.
