Kicker: Garbage cub

NICK EICHER, HOST: Drivers on a North Carolina highway were startled when they saw something unexpected stuck in the back of a garbage truck.

Alarmed, many began flooding Bertie County 911 with phone calls.

Sheriff John Holley soon stopped the truck, and the driver was equally shocked. It was almost like something out of Winnie the Pooh.

AUDIO: Ooh, aah, oh, bother. I’m stuck.

When the driver pulled back the protective netting on the back of the truck, a bear bolted out and into the nearby hundred-acre wood.

The hungry bear apparently followed the alluring aroma of the garbage truck contents, then got stuck.

So that’s a twist on an old adage: One man’s trash is another bear’s treasure.
