NICK EICHER, HOST: What’s easier to scoop up: a pound of feathers or a pound of lead?

Of course, that’s a trick question, but I’ll explain to you why the answer is not feathers.

Road crews found out the hard way last week when a semi flipped over on Interstate 5 north of Tacoma, Washington — and spilled 40,000 pounds of chicken feathers.

Traffic backed up for 11 miles as workers cleared the fluffy mess — which was en route from a poultry facility to a rendering plant in Vancouver.

The Canadian company recycles animal byproducts into pet food and soap.

It’s not entirely clear what they do with feathers.
