NICK EICHER, HOST: Talk about an early Merry Christmas!
ATM users seeking cash in multiples of 10 got more than they bargained for: ten times more, in fact.
This particular automated teller in the Houston area spit out hundreds, not tens. And it didn’t take long for word to spread via social media.
Some sheriff’s deputies in Harris County notified Bank of America and stood guard by the outdoor ATM after the incident on a Sunday night.
Apparently, it wasn’t a software problem. It was that a vendor incorrectly loaded Ben Franklins and not Alexander Hamiltons.
No word on how much cash was wrongly dispensed.
But the bank said customers will be able to keep the extra money!
REICHARD: Ho Ho Ho!
EICHER: It’s The World and Everything in It.
