NICK EICHER, HOST: Brenda Enriquez manages a Chick-fil-A in San Antonio, Texas. One night after locking up she heard a loud banging sound. She noticed a woman and her husband pounding on the glass.
At first, she thought the right thing to do would be to call police.
But as she told TV station KSAT, she decided against that.
ENRIQUEZ: I’m about to dial 911, I open the door, and then she’s just screaming.
Turns out the woman was about nine months pregnant and about to give birth. Robert and wife Falon Griffin had been on the way to the hospital. But little baby Gracelyn wasn’t waiting a moment longer.
So dad had to do the delivery.
R.GRIFFIN: I stopped her at her shoulders because I saw what looked to be a white collar around her neck, and it was – the cord had been wrapped around her neck twice.
He did get the cord unwrapped and delivered a healthy baby girl.
One more bit of good news: The franchise operators have promised little Gracelyn Chick-fil-A for life and her very first job at the restaurant when she turns 14.
Maybe her first words will be, “My pleasure.”
It’s The World and Everything in It.
