NICK EICHER, HOST: Two police officers in Bristol, England did something that most likely no cop in the UK has ever done before.
They arrested a woman who’s 104 years old!
POLICE: I’m arresting you on the being an upstanding citizen for the last 104 years.
You’re maybe wondering, that’s a crime now?
You see, Anne Brokenbrow lives in a retirement home and those who take care of her asked her to make a wish. And to their surprise, she said she regretted never having had the experience of being arrested. “I’ve never been on the wrong side of the law,” she said. So, her wish was the bobbies’ command. They showed up and slapped on the cuffs … gently, of course.
POLICE: Annie put your arms out please. I don’t think you’re going to cause much trouble today.
She even asked the officers to turn on the siren as they pulled off in the squad car.
Interesting wish. How do you top that? Tax audit, maybe?
