Kicker: Armed with water guns

NICK EICHER, HOST: Customers at the 3-Sheets restaurant in coastal city of Perth, Australia, love dining on the patio.

But they had a problem: Dive-bombing seagulls, trying to steal food.

So the restaurant’s owner, Tom Evans, came up with a solution. He decided to arm his customers with water guns.

Evans told Reuters news service, the birds had become increasingly brazen.

EVANS: Getting cheekier and cheekier, but the water pistols are working, because I think they’re learning. They’re going—they’re not welcome here.

It’s keeping the seagulls at bay, and the kids love it, too!
