NICK EICHER, HOST: Rocco is incorrigible. He was booted out of an animal sanctuary in Britain for swearing too much. And now he’s in trouble for unauthorized shopping.
You see, Rocco is an African Gray parrot. He can mimic most any sound he hears. A prior owner taught him to curse.
His new owner, Marion Wischnewski, took him in after the sanctuary where she works kicked him out.
But clever Rocco quickly learned how to interact with Wischnewski’s Amazon Alexa device. She noticed a bunch of items added to her online shopping cart.
AUDIO: You have 24 items on your shopping list. Here are the five most recent: Girl, apple, rock, hello, fire.
Add to that list Rocco’s favorites, like watermelon and strawberries, and you’ve got quite a shopping list.
But clever Rocco’s been thwarted in his quest, because parental controls are now activated to prevent actual purchases.
It’s The World and Everything in It.
